Lads was started in New Braunfels, Texas by a group of six high school juniors seeking authentic community and growth in their relationship with God. The group met every Thursday night to eat together and discuss all aspects of life. After nine months of life changing conversations, the group decided to start inviting more people. The group grew quickly, eventually averaging around twenty-five people each week.

"I went from having addictions, me against the world personality, lost, to having a unwavering faith that was built through God putting these amazing people in my life."
"This group has been so important in the development of my faith over the past few years. We all need brothers to love Jesus with and Lads has been that brotherhood for me. This group has held me accountable, encouraged me in my faith, and given me opportunities to lead that I am beyond thankful for."
"This group changed my life. Thanks to them and God I have completely reset my faith and I am far better because of it."
“I had proclaimed to be a Christian all my life but I had never lived the life of one of God’s children. This group has changed me in so many ways and I can say now that I truly know what being a Christian really means. This group has had the opportunity to change others as well and I am grateful for the people that God has put into my life.”
"I was a lukewarm Christian who walked in a mindset of pride, shame, and anger. I feared that I could never truly be loved and forgiven by God because of the things I’d done but through this group I’ve consecrated myself to the truth which is that Christ renews all who believe in him and makes them a new creation. Redemption is through Christ alone!"
"This group has not only helped me with my faith, but it was the start of mine. It’s where I built a family of friends who held me accountable and encouraged me to make righteous choices. But most of all, this is the group that not only helped me strengthen my foundation but helped me build a foundation centered around God."
The reason why LADS continues on at Texas A&M becuase there will always be a need for young men to meet together amidst their brokeness. This group was founded on the basis to have an organization that allows people to come as they are, there is no interview process to try and beat out people so that you can get into our community. The only selection process that you have to pass is the fact that you show up! Texas A&M needs strong willed men that are pursuing sanctification through a community that points them to the local church. LADS does not replace the local church, but pushes its members to serve the local church and get involved.
"God has used LADS to set a basis for what biblical community should look like for the rest of my life. The brothers that I have made through this community have walked through the some of the hardest things that I have experienced in my life. God has blessed me with a community that will stop anything to help me walk through hardships with them by my side."

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25
